Caster maintenance
Views:785 Updated:2021-12-04
The user is responsible for the proper maintenance and operation of wheeled equipment. To avoid improper use or overloading, place the cargo lightly on the car when the cargo is extremely heavy. High-speed driving on rough roads or heavy objects hitting the wheels can cause damage to the wheels or equipment. Therefore, please check regularly: Brackets and fasteners: Tighten loose axles and nuts and check whether the welds or support plates are damaged. Overloading or impact will cause the bracket to twist. The twisted bracket makes the heavy load lean on the individual wheels and causes the wheels to be damaged prematurely. If it is a plunger type caster, the nut should be tightened or riveted firmly and ensure that the equipment mounting bracket is not bent and the plunger is installed correctly. When installing casters, lock nuts or lock washers should be used. The installation of expandable plunger casters must ensure that the plunger is firmly installed in the casing. Lubrication: Regular lubrication, wheels and movable bearings can be used for a long time. Applying grease to the friction part of the wheel shaft, the seal ring and the roller bearing can reduce the friction and make the rotation more flexible. Lubrication is carried out every six months under normal conditions. The wheels should be lubricated after the car is cleaned every month. Wheels: Visually inspect the wheels for wear. Poor rotation of wheels is related to sundries such as thin red and rope. The anti-entanglement cover can block the entanglement of these sundries. Too loose or too tight casters is another factor. Replace damaged wheels/casters to avoid unstable rotation. After checking and replacing the wheels, be sure to tighten the axle with lock washers and nuts. Because the wheel axle is loose, it will cause the spokes to rub against the bracket and jam. Replacement wheels and bearings should be available to avoid production downtime. Casters: If the movable steering is too loose, it must be replaced immediately. If the rivet in the center of the caster is fixed by a nut, it must be tightly locked. If the movable steering cannot rotate freely, check whether there is corrosion or dirt at the ball. If equipped with fixed casters, ensure that the caster brackets are not bent. Industrial casters-MC nylon wheels will have some impurities or iron pins on the tire surface for a long time. Hanke casters summarize the cleaning methods as follows: 1. Detect the visible wear degree of the tire surface. The "flat spots" on the tire surface may indicate the accumulation of foreign matter. Sundries such as thread ends and iron wires may wrap around the wheel. Remove the bolts and nuts from the wheel to clean up the sundries. Check whether the wheel bearing is damaged. If the parts are not damaged, you can reassemble it and continue using it. If you often encounter the phenomenon that the wheel is entangled by debris, it is recommended to install an anti-wrap cover to avoid it. 2. If there are impurities on the casters, it is easy to form marks on the road after walking, you can use industrial scrub hand sanitizer or diesel to clean it.
